After getting the wool for another throw (baby's floor rug) I found that the colours, aqua, purple and white, were those of an opposition AFL team... so I decided to take out the white and find similar wool which would match the other two colours already started.... not that easy as the wool was on special - when I went in there was only blue and sunflower in enough quantities (though luckily it was still on special!)
I'll now end up with 2 throws. One made with the original white wool and the other made with the unusual combination of purple, aqua and sunflower (a rather mustardy sunflower at that!)
So now I have to stockpile 10 motifs in each colour.... @ 5 motifs per ball. The problem is in deciding whether to do the motifs in stripes of one colour with a matching border on each stripe... or to mix all 3 colours in the stripes and have the border of each stripe in solid blocks.
I've got enough sunflower for the outside border...
NB The 'wool' is actually 50% acrylic and 50% nylon.. great for washing and very soft.
I'll update progress on the throw as it creeps along and those all important decisions of placement are made.
