The wool is lovely and the rug while quite thick is also very soft and cuddly. a slight concern is that the bobbles may catch easily and pull ... time will tell! The colours in this post are a little more accurate than previous pictures and the combination, while forced on me with the need to change one of the original wools, has proven to be really striking and attractive. the pattern lends itself to a throw and this would look really good as an accent accessory in a stark or monotone room.
Alternatively it would also look good on a bed...
There is a little wool left (I think I used a total of about15-18 balls of Cupcake - Moda Vera)... which I will use in an amigurumi .. if I can just decide which one!
In the meantime I'm halfway through a tiny amigurumi bear using scraps of sock wool (an alternative to flower like brooches from the same wool scraps) and also part way through a gorgeous hooded double breasted jacket made from the softest wool I've ever worked with.
Note: while I refer to 'wool' I really mean fibre as I seem mainly to work with blends of nylon, acrylic, courtelle, bamboo and sometimes wool blend. Fibres have improved so much over the years that the stigma of using exotic blends instead of pure wool seems to have gone. Fancy yarns keep the craft interesting and encourage creative thinking... I believe that in this day and age there is plenty of room for a multitude of different combinations.
