So we've seen the accessories in my other posts... both with brooches and without... and they have been put to use on various garments which need a lift and something to make them 'pop'.
Yesterday I introduced the 'big brother'bunny who, with his sister - the white one, are both made from scraps... and rather popular with people who have seen them.
Now for today's one... the cube.

The cube uses 6 granny squares, crocheted together with a foam cube inside (the one in the picture is sitting on a couple of the cubes). I also put some polyester batting round the foam cube as the squares I'd already done were just a little bigger than the foam which I purchased pre-cut.
These would be great as toys for babies.. using all sorts of left overs.. pastel baby wool, bright, variegated, plains, different textures, a combination of crochet and knitting (what a great way to use up tension squares!) anything really. For very child centred blocks you could add appliquéd animals, letters or numbers, and what a neat and novel thing to give for a baby shower gift.
They could also be used as a table centre/talking point if some of the cubes were covered in plain blocks of either toning colours matching the crochet cubes, or perhaps differing textures like velvet/tweed/fur for a more tactile effect. They could be used for visiting children while still looking pretty cool sitting in a group on a side table or perhaps as an introduction of a splash of colour into a monochrome decor.
