Quickly mending torn jeans

Inside
The dilemma of a great pair of jeans which suddenly rip .. just where you don't want them to... namely across the butt... knee tears are fine but the seat of your pants?
So here is the latest mend ... An old denim patch (left over from cutting the excess off another pair of jeans) held on the inside and then carefully stitched backwards and forwards on the outside .

Outside

Rather than hunt through the cottons for a matching pale blue - a virtually impossible task - I used grey cotton for the outer stitching, (I already had a dark colour on the bobbin for the inside where it didn't really matter),and it was brilliant... it blended in much better than an attempt at matching the blues could ever have done.... And the S shaped stitching pattern made sure the stitching would hold (the jeans are not stretch material - possibly the reason they split in the first place).
