A trip to Rotorua the other day gave this opportunity to snap the weather at its best - or worst!
The wind was hurtling in from the lake and the little peddle boats moored on the jetty around the tourist launch looked like a lot of ducklings dabbling round their mother.
The white birds behind the trees are a flock of seagulls all facing into the wind and using the opportunity to clean themselves in the rain which while windblown was not driving rain but more of a gentle misty drizzle. The gulls at the back of the group regularly took off and flew into the wind and placed themselves at the front... wisdom in crowds?
In the meantime the gull in the foreground spent its time having a solitary spa in the rather long puddle which had developed on the tiled footpath.
An all... the photo collected a rather interesting conglomeration of sights which made a day, which seemed to have nothing going for it, take on interest and meaning.
