Using Left Over Wool Challenge 2

Not only do I have left over wool but I have also spent numerous trips as a passenger in the car occupying myself crocheting squares with the sock wool... great occupation to make the trip go faster.. the wool and hook take up next to no room... and the pattern once decided on , in a granny square is pretty difficult to forget!
But the problem becomes what to do with the resultant squares?

I've posted about the cube using squares and its possibilities, and of course you could always make a rug... but the wool tends to clash so I'm on a bit of a mission to find how many ways I can use some of the squares without making it a huge project.
So here is the latest use ... using 4 squares sewn together..... and then with some trebles (double crochet in the USA) from the squares in a circle reducing through to the crown and a couple of circles on the bottom edge with a final one of double crochet (single crochet in USA)
The model was rather reluctant to take the hat off so I think it is a success.
The second photo is taken from the back to show how the circular nature of the crown runs.
